golf or rabbit?

i have a question about mk2 golf's, but i'm not sure if i should post it in the rabbit or golf section. was the mk2 (mine's a 1989 8v gti) called a rabbit or a golf in the us? which forum am i most likely to get a reply posting in?

The US only had Rabbits for mk1, unlike Germany I believe which had mk2 rabbits

So this would be the correct forum, as you have an mk2 golf.
