01 ram adding keyless remote

I have a 01 dodge ram but I never got a key fob for it when it was new. The truck has power locks. Can I purchase a key fob for it and have it programed or do I have to have something else installed?

I am looking to use factory equipment not after market.

Take it to the dealer and has to be programed with Chrysler's factory scan tool,DRB III.All Chrysler key fobs are this way, programed with the DRB III and there is no othe way to do it

if you take it to the dealer, they will take care of you. they will sell you the factory key fob, and program it for you. you wont have to worry about getting any fcc numbers or anything else. and the whole process is quick, they will do it while you wait.
