Like he said, he had the right to choose. He made his choice.

Re: Re: Irony at it's finest
I feel no sense of loss for him. I do feel for his family, who, have now lost a stupid individual. I wonder, after all his bitching about not wanting to use a seat belt, did he realize as he was flying through the windshield, "hmmm.... maybe I should have worn it"

Re: Irony at it's finest
I think the intent of the law is not necessarily to protect the individual wearing the seatbelt, but the family of said individual, as well as society in general from the cost (hospital, funeral, cleanup, etc)

Re: Irony at it's finest
Haha. Very funny. I'm sure if he would have survived he would have written a column called "Government officials attempt to assassinate me for critisicin (sp?) seat belt laws by putting ice on road"

That almost qualifies as Irony. It would have been ironic if he had cliamed he was as safe without wearing his seatbelt as he would be wearing it. But, he wasn't doing that. He was talking about the loss of civil liberties.

that proves that school smarts dont mean you're actually smart
He had a 4.0 Which clears my theory that street smarts are "real" smarts |

Re: Irony at it's finest
A perfect example of irony, I couldn't believe what I was reading in that article and was already planning my responce here, but, then I realised that irony fits here somewhere, so before I finished, I opened the 2nd link.....
what's weirder is this statement made by Andris Dellinger at the bottom of the page: Quote:

Re: Irony at it's finest
Apparently it was more important for him to exercise his personal freedom than to be safe.

It was not irony. He would have to have said not wearing your seatbelts is just as safe as wearing them for it to have been ironic. His article talked about the removal of a civil liberty.
