Re: how do you pull a cam shaft

Pull the front of the engine off, accessories, timing cover, water pump, etc. Pull the upper and lower intake, valve covers, rocker arms, and pushrods. Remove the lifters and retainers, timing chain and gear set, distributor, radiator, and then the cam. May have missed an item or two and this isn't necessarily in any order.

Re: how do you pull a cam shaft

It really isn't that difficult. More intimidating than anything if you've never done it before.

Re: how do you pull a cam shaft

that all depends on what type of engine you're running. If its a later T-bird with an over head can engine you dont have the distributor or the pushrods (over head cam engine versus push rod engine)un fortunetley you do have to still take off the front engine cover and accesories and stuff. Im not sure but you might be able to leave the intake manifold on.

He's got an '89, so he has to pull just about everything, unfortunately.
