Unhappy guages not working

I just purchased a 94 Bonny for my daughter and the speedometer, odometer, trip set and cruise control do not work. I was told it might be the speed sensor. Is this an accurate assumption? If so, where is the speed sensor located?
Thanks!

Re: guages not working

does the tach and fuel guages work, or is it just the speedo and odometer tht don't work? if it's just the speedo and odo not working then the VSS is the problem. It is located in the transmission, near where the passenger side axle shaft goes into it.

Re: Re: guages not working

The tach and fuel guage works fine. So I take it it's not an easy job to change it (i.e., the tranny has to come out). Thanks for the info.

no, it's actually a simple job. It's mounted on the ouside of the trans.

Re: guages not working

Well nothing worked...I put in a new instrument cluster and a new VSS and the speedometer, odometer, trip set and cruise control still doesn't work.
