HOORAY!! it's finally finished.....and a pic of the remodeled shop.
I finished the principle footage for the DVD today so I'm not tied down by weather or daylight to work on it. I got to use my new upgrades on the shop too and here's what it looks like with the new fencing and roof. Or is it a picture I just found in my stash of Junior's Chevrolet from back inna day?
Whadda ya'think?

There's gonna be a start to finish tutorial on hand lettering on it at least. But in the meantime, how about a quick fencing lesson for starters?
A little quick, cheap tip for the fence. Get a few 1/8" rods from your local hardware ( about $1.50 for a four foot section at HD) and cut it in about 5" sections so you'll have enough to sink in the holes where you mount them. I used a full length section for the top rail soldered to the posts. Then take the metal screen from a real cars air cleaner for the fencing. Some fine wire run through the holes and twisted is a very prototypical way of fastening the fence to the posts and you're there. |

If they have a modeling hall of fame you should be in it, where will I be able to buy this DVD when your done? Great technique on the fencing I'll have to try that out. What are you doing for the trees in the back-round? Thats always puzzled me since I've seen you builds.Lil'budman |

Great work on the shop Luke. IMHO the pic could do with some detail in the forground, otherwise it looks extremely real.

I think one of the major mail order hobby shops are going to distribute it but you can get one directlyt from me when I get it finished if you'd like. Shooting for $15 plus shipping. Any ideas on foreground "clutter"? Maybe another car in the corner of the frame or candy wrappers? The trees are the easiest part. Put the shop on top of a real car and the rest of the background, trees included, wind up being just about right automatically.

Man, that's not a real car and a real fence and...
Seriously, if you put that picture in the net saying it is real, nobody will doubt... first class work. I'm amazed. |

Luke, the forground just looks too clean to me, maybe some tyretracks or oil stains? Is it dirt or concrete? But I don't mean to harp, as always with your pics, it is totaly lifelike.

You gotta remember, these are early stock cars. How 'bout some empty Mason jars instead?
