Radio LOCK

Hey, im posting this for my buddy who has a 96 Audi A4.

He recnetly disconnected his battery, and after reconnection the windows would not respond until a 3 second hold ( maual says thats normal), but also his radio says something like "safe mode"....Is this like a theft lock like the chevy radios???

So how do we get his radio rockin again????

THanks guys----

First of all you need to figure out which radio the car has. Audi has installed several different types over the years and each radio has it's own little button dance you need to enter before being able to enter the code.

Then you need to find the radio's code #. If your buddy bought the car used and does not know the code have him look around on the inner door of the center console or glove box, those are some popular places to write it down ( I have seen several people do this)

In this link is fairly complete instruction set for most Audi radios. It includes pictures, so if you don't know the exact radio model, this will help.
