Ranger2001 Check Engine Light

I have a check engine light that came on about a week ago I drove it about 60 miles and it went off for a few days and returned. THen I drove it again to work and it went off but this time returned to stay on. I took it to auto zone and the read out said Insufficient Exhaust Flow. THey sold me an EGR which I installed and the EGR Sensor will be in approximately about a week.
The dealer wants 100 just to check it again and says it will probably be a vacuum problem that will be around 450.
Does anyone know or heard of this.

Re: Ranger2001 Check Engine Light

I would suggest you find a local mechanic that some relative or friend recomends, that knows the computer end of the business. have him give it the once over with the dignostic equiptment. I'm sure he will only charge a "hook-up" fee and tell you what you need. Not recomended to keep driving around with the light on, it may turn a small problem into a large one if you keep driving it this way. Later...Mark.
