b18b in an 00 civic hatch ??
my friends and i are debating on putting a 91 b18b1 in a 00 civic dx hatch. would it be legal to do that and will it pass state inspection because what ive heard is that the law requires in order to put a motor in your vehicle it has to be the same year or newer and it can't be older. so i was just wondering what you guys have to say and we are in the state of TEXAS. thanx guys

no, you cant "legally" swap an older motor into a newer car, and i believe its that way for all if not most of the states.

if your in cali then your 00" would be obd2 and the b18b would be obd1, so you need and obd 2 motor or above to do a swap and make it legit. If you want to run an older motor than you need to keep you original or find somone who will smog your car with no paperwork.

I'm not sure about emission and the sort, as I live in OR and you can pass with nearly anything..but as for the swap, I generally swap the same OBD to save you wiring time.
