ABS Light????

I`ve got a 96 Si.Recently the ABS light is coming on after driving a few yards, but not at startup.Does this sound like a wheel sensor?Once it comes on,it won`t go off.Should I try resetting the ecu?The fluid level is fine.I`m trying to sell this car,and I need to get this fixed asap.I`ve already dropped the price $900 in light of this problem. Please help!!!!

hey..i hope you get this soon...did you check the break fluid....i have a 92 prelude and it was the break fluid that caused the ABS break light to come on...almost ruined some stuff by not having it in there....lemme know if this works....p.s. fill it up...pump the breaks..drive around a little and then fill it up again.....it will take day of driving for it to realize youve refilled the fluid.

Well,

I recently had this problem, except mine would come on and off intermittantly sometimes would stay on for days at a time. Mine turned out to be a float. Maybe this could be your problem too.

Re: ABS Light????

I have the exact same problem with ABS. I never bothered to investigate it since I don't need ABS, but I have always presumed that there was a problem with the ABS unit in the engine bay.

Re: Re: ABS Light????

I had the codes pulled. It was a 4-1.If I am right, this is a front right wheel speed sensor.I found one on the net for 63 dollars. How hard is this to do?Do I reset the system? And How?

its pretty straight forward, take your wheel off and start unbolting the 10 mm bolts that hold the wheel sensor on, just follow it back up the knuckle to the plug... rebolt the new one one and plug it in, then unhook the battery to reset the system and your done.....
