O2 Sensor
I heard that there are two O2 Sensors on the Pontiac Grand Prix's, I was trynig to find out which one I needed to change because my friend ran a diagnostic check and it said I need an O2 sensor. Since he was in a rush I did not have time to get the correct code for the O2 sensor. I am confused and do not know whether or not if it is sensor on top of the manifold or on the bottom. The car is performing poorly and that is the reason why I wrote the thread about the fuel pump. I do not know if the sensor is making th fuel pump act up or if it is just the fuel pump; can somebody help me out please!!!!!!!

The O2 sensor on the exhaust manifold,is the one which lowers emissions and provides better fuel economy. That sounds like the one that needs to be changed.

Re: O2 Sensor
Thanks, I changed the O2 sensor that was located on top of the manifold, plus cleared the Engine Service soon light and that did it all

Oxygen Sensor Repalcement
How Do You Replace The Sensor On The Exhaust Manifold, Next To Engine, Seems Really Tough To Get To. Seems Like You Have To Roll Engine Forward. How Do You Roll Engine Forward To Change Sensor.

Re: O2 Sensor
It is a special tool you use to remove the bolt from the manifold; that is the only way you can remove that bolt. All pliers and wrenches are useless.

It's really not necessary to rock the engine forward. Removing the engine cover bracket will give you tons of space.

Re: O2 Sensor
I fix my sensor with this tool that a mechanic gave to me and it was real easy then. I did not have to rock the engine, nor move anything.
