Help! So totally clueless here...

Aaargh! Okay, so. This is going to seem *really* simple and kind of "duh" but here is my problem. I haven't a clue how to pop open my hood.

I have a 1994 Lumina, and I have looked *everywhere* I can think of, to find a button or *something* that will pop it. We're talking I've looked under the steering wheel, beside the seat, under it, in the glove compartment--heck, I've even looked in the trunk and under the freakin' bumper.

My battery died, and I have to replace it. Like, as soon as possible because I have to have some way to get to school tomorrow. I can't do this if I can't open the dang hood.

Please please please help? Many thanks in advance!

It's located by the driver's seat, on its left side. It's a lever. If you got the car from somebody and the previous owner broke that thing, the only thing that you can do is to pull the cable from outside the car (you can actually see it through the front grill).
