93 camry wont shift after airbag is released

i cant get my car out of park since the air bag was released after a small accident. is this because of a safety mechanism? if so, how can i bypass it? would reall appreciate any advice.

I do believe this could be caused by the Shift Lock mechanism. This can be bypassed by the button the is beside the shifter, all you have to do is push it in, and then push the shift lever button and shift normally.

Hmm...I've never actually heard of this kind of problem, unless there is something that managed to get damaged when the airbag went off...either that, or there's something we're overlooking.
