93 Escort Timing Problems (help)
OK i have a 93 escort 1.9 litre. i just replaced the head gasket ,water pump and timing belt. Before i replaced the head gasket i had anti-freeze in my exhaust. Now i replaced the head gasket and i have gasoline in my exhaust. I set the timing by the mark on the case and the mark on the camshaft . WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING WRONG? PLEASE HELP IM ABOUT TO SNAP ON THIS CRAPPY LITTLE FORD WITH NO SPACE TO FIT YOUR HANDS ANYWHERE TO WORK!!

are you positive its gasoline in your exhaust and not just the water that is natural to come out of your exhaust

yup im sure but now i got the gasoline and the water out but for some reason the timing is still off a bit.....any solutions

you could try (I know you prolly wouldnt want to) and re-install the timing belt. Properly allign the timing marks on the cam pulley and timing pulley. i just installed my timing belt and waterpump too, and my timing is off by alot...
