Broken door latch
I have a 98 s-10 blazer. The metal around the striker on the driver's side weakened and eventually pulled out of the pillar. Has anyone else experienced this, if so what was your solution for fixing it. Right now I am fabricating a bracket that will remount it.

Re: Broken door latch
I've seen that happen before on other vehicles. It was caused by worn door hinges allow the the door to hit the striker offcenter, after a while it fatigued the metal around the striker and it tore out. A metal plate fixed it long enough to sell it.
