sqeeling noise

2000 Blazer LT. When its started on cold mornings there is a sqeeling noise from the front pully area of the engine. What could this be? The alternator, tensioner and serpintene belt have all been replaced in the last 8 months. After it warms up noise is gone.

Re: sqeeling noise

I know you said that the tensioner has been replaced but is it at the proper tension it should be? I read soemwhere (not sure where sorry) that when you relace it you should check it a few weeks later and make any adjustments needed. That is all I can think of with my knowledge (sorry don't have too much).

Its the back of the belt rubbing against the top pulley. I end up replacing the belt each year because of squealing/chirping. Mine too chirps when it is cold and goes away after a minute or so. If you want to be sure, spray a quick shot of wd40 on the belt contact point of the pulley and you will find the noise will go away.

i had close to this problem with my 98LT,
i bought it brand new in 98, anyways i had a sqeeling noise along with a little clicking, wasn't loud but still i wanted to fix it. turned out it was my pully on my power steering pump worked out a little, just anogh to give me a noise, i never changed the pump or nothing, just happand on its own,
if you look to the side of the belt make sure every pully is inline with eachother and strait, if not theres your problem,
hope this helps
