Almost ready to end crankshaft seal saga...
As many of you already know I severly botched my front crankshaft seal replacement the first time around. Well, I'm finally getting ready to put it back together the 2nd time around. I have the new woodruff key in, I have the seal itself kind of in, the only problem is that the socket I have isn't deep enough to seat the seal all the way (at least I don't think it is). I tapped it in as far, and as gently as I could, and this is where I'm at now (see pic below). It's been a while since I popped the original one off, but if memory serves the seal should be flush with the block itself...right? If so I guess I'll have to go buy a deep well socket to finish the job because I don't want to do something dumb and botch it at this point...thanks for all of your help...
