Question For You Rotary Buffs

How Exactly does the lubrication system work on the rotary engines? i heard on the RENESIS Rx-8 engine it squirts oil onto the inner walls...is this the same with the RX7? and how does the crank become lubricated? also i heard on another forum that the rotary engine was called 2 stroke by some...i could understand..a 2 stroke burns oil and fuel..so if the oil is injected onto the inner walls, it still gets burnt, so i think it could be could considered 2 stroke, even through it really has no stroke...also what type of spark plugs does the rotary engine use? i know GReddy has rotary spark plugs for sale...but what do they look like? any pics or descriptions would help me...thanks...Tex

A small amount of oil is injected into the motor in order to help lubricate the apex seals. Its not actually part of the combustion process (it just gets burned up).

And the only plugs that I would personally recommend are NGKs

BUR9EQ for trailing, BUR7EQ for leading.

Re: Question For You Rotary Buffs

rotary is technically 4 stroke, it has intake, compression, power, and exhaust strokes. it's that the combustion chamber itself moves and changes size.
