Question 1969 Cougar with Targa Top ???

Hi, greetings from Germany. Actually I am looking on the market for a 69 convertible but have been offered a 69 Coupe with Targa Top. Have never heard about Targa Top on the Cougar before and can not find literature about it. Does anybody know about this? Was it a factory option? Or an after market option? Any information of how many of these available? Any help appreciated - thank you.

Targa Top???

No such thing as a Targa Top for any year Cougar. I own 3 '68s and have done extensive research and restoration on these cars. Have done VIN decoding and targa tops dont exist as a factory option. Someone may have put one on a convertible at some point in its life but its not some "rare" option car. Its probably simply a convertible whose top rotted and someone rigged a hard top for it. Beware!! Thats not saying its not a good car but its definately not original. Good Luck. Steve
