Cool Completed: Twin Turbo Pro Touring 1967 Chevelle SS 396

Well it is finally done. I fought many problems with this thing to get it done, but finally i have something to show for it! if you are interested in the progress on this kit, the link is in my sig.

Motor/drivetrain: This kit came with a 396, but i wanted something extreme. I scratchbuilt a TBI setup, and added twin turbos, with a scratchbuilt intercooler. The radiator comes from a stock car kit, i didn't figure the stock one would hold up. transmission back is all kit stock parts.

Suspension: there were no modifications what so ever to the suspension, that is the stock stance for this kit, as well as the wheels. i think they could use a black wash. but im not going to bother with it now.

Interior. The interior got a fix of flat black and boyds grape pearl, followed by a dull coat, the front seats are from a Viper, I picked out some of hte dash and console detail with model master chrome silver. and hit the shift knob with some model master purple pearl

Body: i shaved all emblems and body markings, but left the door handles. I opened up the vents in the hood and filled them with wire mesh. The color on the body is Millenium silver, with Royal Blue and a purple pearl pin stripe. All colors are Duplicolor with the exception of the stripe. All followed by several coats of clear. The window moldings were picked out in flat black and the panel lines chased with a black wash. I opted to use flat black and no chrome around the windows for a more modern look.

on to the pictures, i hope you enjoy.

Very mean looking! Good job.
I especially love the 3rd picture, the car looks very real there.

Nice to see this one finaly done & up on the shelf. It turned out very good, even the pinstripe! I have fallen a bit off of the modling wagon but I think this is just the project to get me going again!

Re: Completed: Twin Turbo Pro Touring 1967 Chevelle SS 396

thanks for all of the encouraging comments guys.

to answer the camera question, no, no macro button. i just make due. sometimes i'll bust out the 35mm and shoot the car.

I didn't think this one was ever going to get finished either. this brings my model total for the year up to 5 completed. hoping to finish off my D50 by the end of the year as well. until next time.......
