Why do people hate Fram oil filters?

i figure if i can get a premium ac delco for the same cost and dont have to worry about the cardboard fram uses in there to filter im better off in the long run

Fram is junk and has cardboard ends.

All decent oil filters have metal ends.

It is mass marketed junk and causes the startup knock on our 4.3Ls.

I'm told by a mechanic friend that also fram tends to have the gaskets fall off of the filters so he does not advise people to buy fram.

Yip, and the filter media inside is 1/3 that seen in most other filters.
