The fast and the furious

Hey,

Just went to see that new movie with the hot sport compacts...Did'nt have any G's guest starring in it but the SR20 gets mentioned at one point....Other than that if you want a decent speed fix and some eye candy it's a good flick.

I know this might be a little off topic but it's kinda part of our scene..Sorry if I'm inconveniencing anyone.

Talking

That movie was truely awesome. Its been a long time since I've seen a movie that got my adrenilin flowing like that. We (Customers of Indy Import Performace) met at the shop at 6pm and cruised to the local Lowes Cineplex. For some reason there seemed to be alot of cops out on out route to the theater. There was about 25 cars of various makes there from mild to wild. I gotta give a shout out to Charles (he was there), he's got an Infiniti G20 too. So there were 2 G20's sittin' in the lot. I thought that it was cool that the SR20 got mentioned in the flick. There was also the awesome trio of Nissans. A 240SX (Silvia), R33 Skyline GT-R, and a Maxima (previous body style). The coolest part about the movie was that the cars were actually built, not mock ups.

That was the best movie I have seen. I saw it last night and I want to see it again. I wish I had one of those nos tanks in my car. Did you see under the hood of the green eclipse....daaaaaamnnnnnn. It was kinda funny though, he was going 140mph while opening up his computer and typing stuff in...but besides that....it was awesome. The supra was phat too. If that dodge (dom's father's car) had 900+ hp and a shit load of torque, why couldnt it beat the 550hp Supra that it raced? The Supra used nos, is that why? But for real, after I got out of the theather I was like, damn I wanna race now. Hahaha. All you people HAVE to see this movie or Im gonna leave skid marks on your face. jk

I saw the movie last night. That was one good movie, all the cars looked tight. After the movie, all these civics were in the lot revving their engines thinking their cars were the fastest things on the earth because there were some civics in the movie. Anyways, this one civic that was infront of me peeled out of the parking lot. It had all these stickers on it and a body kit, but the sound of the engine sounded like a stock civic (pre 2000), and on the lower right hand corner what did it say??? EX... so I pull up next to it because there's a light, and the civic starts revving its engine . I couldn't help but start laughing to myself. Needless to say, it was a stock Civic EX and I burned it. Just thought I'd share that amusing story. I love my G20!!! Seeing that movie does make you want to race. There are gonna be a lot of little civics buzzing around thinking they can take on everyone. Oh well... if you haven't seen the movie, you should see it!!

Pretty good movie.

I went to see it this weekend. I laughed @ the Motec Exhaust comment. Went with a buy of car buffs. We enjoyed it. The most enjoyment came from my roommate. He just got back his Supra. Its pretty slick. A couple pics are here...

More to come soon, but i will not bog down the G20 area with supra stuff...

Thumbs up

HI..just thought I'd jump quick as a new member, and add my thumbs up to a great movie and what appears to be a great board for the G20! I just recently purchased a (new)2001 G20t, black/black 5speed, and think this is a great car and value. Bought it for commuting purposes..and not being into the street racing thing myself..but, think/hope there is a lot of good information here for anyone that owns an Infinity product, stock or modified. Hmm.. don't see many (any) g20's around here.. I almost feel like and alien of the highway!:alien: ...kinda like when I take the old mustang II out for a cruise

I love it that there aren't many cars like ours on the road. Its like driving something expensive, like a ferrari or lamborgini (well not exactly like that) that not many people have, and turns heads everywhere you go.

But anyway, watch the movie! Its the BEST.

I must digress.
Court, you have heard this before, so skip this one.
Ronin, Grand Prix, and Le Mans are the best driving movies ever made. F and F had some cool scenes, but they can't quite compare to these movies. Let's see.
Ronin had many more car chases, one in downtown Nice (Audi S8 and some Citroens), Two in downtown Paris (M5 vs peugot and S8 running from cops). The stunt scenes were done by Ex-Formula 1 drivers! Plus Ronin had a plot!
Grand Prix: need I say more! back when Formula 1 and Grand Prix racing was very very dangerous Tons of good racing footage. Actors were taught by non-other than Bob Bondurant and features some famous talented drivers of the time period.
Le Mans: Steve McQueen, Porsche 917's and Ferrari NARTS. Unbelieveable footage from actual and staged 24 hrs of Le Mans. Plot could use some help, but the racing scenes are as real as it gets and unbeatable.

Yes F and F had some cool body kitted cars, but the driving scenes left some to be desired in my opinion. And last time I checked a 1/4 mile drag run lasted at most 15 secs for a slow car: so why was it every drag race lasted like 5 minutes? Also the technical director could have used some help. The guys who were looking for the SR20's ran Honda S2000's at the main drag race. Plus a Motec exhaust, and double clutching on upshifts. BUT it was an entertaining movie, like the remake of Gone in 60 Seconds with Cage.

Also, Court's (KY_INFINITI2000) roomate's car IS awesome: the blow-off valve is louder than the exhaust.

I saw it and it was incredible!!

It made me want to go out and drive my G real fast, but then I was like "no i'll probly crash and die" but still the movie was awsome. The cars all made me almost have an orgasm (not really but they where cool as hell). Me and my 2 best friends went to see it friday but it was sold out, so we saw it monday night, and the theater was still packed but at least we got in.
anyways, bottom line: good movie! ^_~

later

P.S. Koojo I love that sign in your quote

I have not seen F and F yest but I doubt seriously there can be better Car Chase scenes than the ones in RONIN or the Original CAR CHASE MOVIE ... THE FRENCH CONNECTION.......

Actually the scenes on BMWFILMS.COM are great too.... Especailly the one John Frankenhiemer ( Ronin ) did....

Just my 2 cents .....

Cheers
P.S. When will The fast & Furious be out on DVD or VCD over there, as its wont be out in the movie here for a couple of months.

it does get out of hand...

i go to the races in newark, nj. and i've watched (on seperate occasions) 3 people die/get killed over the coarse of a year. 2 of them were people who went out of control and crashed and died (maybe airbags could have saved them if they didnt use "racing" steering wheels), and the other person was a bystander that was run over and dragged into a curb and died because his chest got completely crushed.

it still wont stop people from racing... they're back in an hour after something like this happens....

I believe that Frankenheimer also did Grand Prix.
I Haven't seen the films that bmw commisioned (i have no bandwidth!), but the commercials i have seen look good, with some e-brake turns and an M5 doing some good controlled slides.

I think this film is better than the other two you are talking about. Its incredible how the camera catches awesome scenes. Theres just so much going on, and you are always wondering 'whats gonna happen', and you get a big adreniline rush, so it was great.
