Yes sir, bad ass machines. Looks like a Bently, priced like a Chrysler, runs like a raped ape. 13.90 in the 1/4 mile stock. Wait till some bolt on mods start becoming popular for the hemi motors, and could you imagine a supercharger kit to put it in the 500-550 hp range? That would be a good sleeper.

How about the upcomming 300C SRT-8 .4 extra liters making it a 6.1 and a 85 HP increase bringing 425 net ponies to the game which happens to be the same gross power rating as the legendary 426 Hemi. Now that will be a beast!

That will be a sweet car. I have been told that the 426 hemi although rated 425 hp put out closer to 500 hp. Hopefully that car will be able to compete with such super sedans as the BMW M5 and the Mercedes Benz E55 AMG both of which run low 13's in the 1/4 mile and are between 385-450 horsepower, and all are 4 door sedans.

The SRT-8 300C will not be hosting the 6.1, it will be keeping the 5.7 but gets a supercharger. The SRT-8 Mag will get the 6.1.

Now that I had not heard.
Very, very interesting - as I know that the aftermarket specialists are struggling to accomplish the same goal. Apparently, the engine computer's air flow values are giving them fits.
Can't wait to see this one.

so you've actually seen the motor on the magnum? why the hell are they using two different approaches to the same vehicle? hell even the grand cherokee srt is supposedly going to use the 6.1 liter, and i've never found a single article or piece of literature (other than what you just typed) that says otherwise. i've just been in the business too long to believe that they'd openly spend more money to regulate two different setups. they would have to smog check each new engine and transmission setup, that's why the new grand cherokee has the same 5 speed auto-stick as the 300c and magnum rt.

What's Special About It?
It may look like a station wagon, but Dodge's latest concept is anything but homely. Not only does it sport broad-shouldered styling that makes it look like the kind of grocery-getter that Mad Max's wife would drive, it has the muscle to back up its sinister appearance. A supercharged 430 horsepower Hemi V8 lurks under the hood while a five-speed automatic borrowed from Mercedes-Benz takes care of the shifts

but note the posted date. that's from edmunds.com and its coverage of the 2003 LA Auto show in which the magnum srt-8 was only a pre-production prototype.

The Dodge Magnum SRT-8 concept vehicle takes the Hemi one step further, with a Whipple supercharger to add power at both low and high rpm. It helps to raise power to about 430 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque - just a tad more than the official ratings of the legendary 426 Hemi, and without the single-digit gas mileage or oil consumption.

According to Cliff, Mopar Now, there are some changes to the SRT-8 package deal.

The SRT-8 will be supplied with the new Hemi V-8 6.1 ltr engine vice the Hemi 5.7. However, you can still buy the Magnum wagon with the 5.7 version but not with the Whipple Supercharger. More of a in between the bottom wagon and the SRT-8 version.

The SRT-8 will have over 400 HP and 450 plus lbs of torque. It will be mated with the the next generation heavy duty 5-speed automatic.

The pricing is south of 30K but close to it.

What is unbelievable is the tight lip seal on the next hemi 6.1 engine development.

There is still plan on using a whipple supercharger on the 5.7 but I can't get any word on which planned platform. Hopefully it will be the 300N or Daytona Charger.

So are you trying to say that im wrong? I actually have seen the car in person. I have pics of my own but none of the engine, iv seen the price tag. It was at VOI8 here in Dallas where I live.
