96 s-10 starting problems

I am having some serious problems starting my s-10. After it sits for an hour or two i have to fight it to start it. usually if i hold the key on the start postion for more than a second it will not start. I have to just try little flicks to the on position until it starts.(which is probably bad for the starter too.) i've been hearing things about 94 and 95 s-10's with starting problems, could those have carried over to the 96? please help thanks
