2.4 from cavalier into 97, will it work?? help

I pulled a 2.4 out of my 96 cavalier which i wrecked. it is a good engine with no problems. My question is can i switch it into a 97 achieva 2.4 4spd auto?? i will strip it to the block and head and keep everything else. Everything is identical i think, and im sure the block and head are an exact fit. Does this not seem right.? any info would be appreciated

Yes,It will.Everything should be the same.Do not turn it back wards,you will bend the valves that way.Turn the crankshaft as your tightening a bolt up and you will not bend the valves.
