Best Buy is runnin a sale this week on Sony Xplod subs. 2 10" 700-Watt subs for $119. Is it worth it? How do xplod subs compare? I just want something decent to start out with.

as a starter....those might be ok. but as you listen to more systems...you will hate them more. for $119, you can do better than that. the Xplod sound quality sounds more like a tone generator. sound quality is barely there. as for loudness, i've heard 2 12" in a bandpass box before. they were loud. i would say they can reach 140dB in a proper built enclosure.
i recommend getting a pioneer TS-W254C. they are 10" and you can get them for $49.95 each (sounddomain.com ). these subs have great sound quality and can go real deep (in a proper box; these subs can go down to 18hz ) |

What would be a decent/cheap amp to go with those subs? a 600W 2Ch? Also, where could I get a good box for those 10s?
