rye vs whiskey

Hi all, I was just getting ready to go to the club :, and was drinking some Canadian Club. I seem to remember that the commercial for it said it was a rye, but, it says whiskey on the bottle. Does anyone know what the difference between rye and whiskey is? (my gf thinks that the 2 terms are interchangeable).

I guess Ill have to wait for the commercial to findout about my memory, though

Re: Re: rye vs whiskey

Vodka can be made from other things as well, including many grains.

Whiskey can also be made from Potatos, or Rye, or Wheat, or cane sugar etc etc.

It comes down to the fermentation process used, which varys with geographic location.
