Tranny overheat
1985 300z with tranny problems.
We have a project car that fried it's tranny. We found a used on and replaced the dead on. Then the same thing started to happen again with overheating the suspected problem. Stopped by a tranny shop an they said this was a common problem with Zs. They said to change the radiator as they failed internally. We got a new radiator and are about to put it in. Would it be wise to add an aux Hayden cooler? Are there other problems we should be looking for? Thanks, Dick |

On the older Z i have heard of the trannies overheating and failling but not that often. But I dont deal with many Z31s, but to answer your question yes it would be wise to add a tranny cooler.

Where and how did you hang them? Space seems limited, but I haven't looked for a place yet.

um...on a z31, probably would have to between the radiator and the clutch fan...somewhere in between there, unless you want to remount the radiator. i have one to install on mine but i havent really looked on where to put it in at...
