First of all i'm not turbo'd myself nor have I helped anyone turbo anything, but I think i've picked up enough info here and there to atleast help point you in the right directions. First of all pick up a manual for your car - You can find a bunch of manuals at http://www.hondahookup.com/manuals/ they are in pdf format - and download at your own discretion. - i'm not sure if you have a 4th gen or 5th gen prelude (or if you even have a prelude at all) - but in any case that site has manuals - that will pretty much tell you how to remove/install/tear open/put together an engine. Secondly peruise the forums at honda-tech.com - don't go about asking to many newb questions without searching the forums for an answer first - otherwise they will be quite snappy with you.. there is tons of good information on that site - usually including detailed photographs. as an aside - i also recommend you read this article http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=683477 but anyways back to engines - honda-tech has articles on boost and you can read them here. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=783372 and http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=316373 finally - unless you have deep pockets, I don't really recommend it - don't get me wrong a lot of people boost successfully - but personally I think it's more headache then it's worth, just drive your car and enjoy it as is - then again - I think preludes (vtec and even the h23 versions) are fast enough stock. It's one of those things you're going to have to weigh - but putting thousands into an old car (even though they are damn sexy) rather than using that money for a house or something that is actually an investment - always boggles my mind. |
