gross poluter

hi there, I am new to this forum and am curious if anyone here knows the answer to my problem...my 93 rx7 won't pass smog...smog man says it is the cleanest car he's seen in a while at 2500rpm but a gross poluter at idle...way too rich I guess...how in the world can I adjust idle mixture?I suppose someone will ask me for more specifics like actual emissions numbers so I will try to get those entered here tomorrow but in the mean time, does any one have any sugestions?

thanks for the link...I read it all and am not exactly convinced this will help. Does anyone have first hand experience with adding alcohol to cure idle emissions while cruising emissions are just fine? Back to my origional question: is there a way to adjust A/F mixture? Does anyone know? Will one of those aftermarket computers work, like the ones made by apexi and others? Or can the engine be adjusted without investing in fancy electronics? I appreciate any input...thanx

how are your catalitic converters? your air pump if equiped fuctioning?
injectors cleaned and tested? fuel filter? o2 sensor? you can adjust the A\f mix but if these things are giving problems ajusting the a\f will give you drivability problems
