2000 Sierra PCV Valve

I haven't ever done much work on my own cars so please bear with me. I want to replace the PCV valve on my 2000 4.8L V8 Sierra but I can't locate it. There's a map under the hood but I need a little better explanation if anyone can help. Thanks

Re: 2000 Sierra PCV Valve

The PCV valve should be on a valve cover at the end of a rubber hose. I'm not familiar with the new 4.3l engines so I can't help much more.

Re: Re: 2000 Sierra PCV Valve

i have a 2000 sierra with a 5.3 so its the same layout, it is on the very far back of the valve cover on the driver side, just pull it up, pull the pcv out of the hose, put the new one on, but before you put it back make sure it has suction with the engine running, and then shake it and make sure it rattles.
