ok i might have answered my own question halfway. im pretty sure the 2200 means 2.2L and it should have 130hp stock. i have an intake, what else could i do to boost that hp up? also what are some good sites to find parts cuz i havnt been able to find many parts for the 1990 gt (i found a gt thing in my glove compartment ) im a genious sometimes

Re: hey

well since you have the 2.2L you could turbo it...that'll run you about 2 g's...put you in the 220hp range...so about low 14's if you can get it to the ground.

Re: hey

shiftgateperformance.com is making a turbo kit right now...they say it will put out 200hp on stock boost (7-8psi) its an intercooler system...$2500...not the pos burien kit. and all you need to boost over 10 psi is put a metal head gasket on it...(might want to do some internal if you want it actually reliable though) i.e pistons and connecting rods.

Re: hey

oh and the cool thing to do for an exhaust, which is what i did...is bought a apexi n1 muffler, and get a resonator pipe and have a shop weld it togather for you...oh yea and hollow out your cat. then you got a custom exhaust...not just something anyone has.

Try a company called TRD (toyota racing developments) they should be able to help you out, if not, point you in the right direction.

Re: hey

there you go, the burien kit is good if your lookin for a nice Kit, but ts not a kit to buy if your goin crazy boost... make your own, possibly out of the 3sgte turbo system...

and fyi the internals on the 5sfe arent that bad, just the fact that it has farely weak rods and the piston wrings arent very good either....ill try to find a site i bookmarked that sold rods and piston kits for the 5sfe that were good with low comp

Re: hey

I would not recommend turboing the 5SFE.
It is a great economy engine, but a horrible design for a performance engine.

If you really want to do it, then get the 3SGTE head and beefier internals ... but at that point, you might as well just get a 3SGTE set up
