Unhappy 99 z28 - Paint chipping, Floorboard flooded

Please tell me I'm not the only person having these problems...

My paint started chipping in a very small area one day after taking my car through an automatic car wash. My warranty has been expired, and my insurance will not cover it. Any suggestions?

As of Monday night we had over 2" of rain. Tuesday morning I went to get in my car (it was parked front down on an incline) and there was so much water puddled in the floorboard that I could barely see the brake pedal. (It was still raining) Nothing else in my car was wet. Yes, I do have T Tops. Again, any suggestions?

I also have a tail light that works when it wants to. There's been water in it before. Recently a hole was drilled in it to let the water drain and a new bulb put in but it's still not working correctly.

I love my car and these problems are breaking my heart.

Pic of my car pre-problems.

Thanks for any assistance you guys/gals can give me!

Re: 99 z28 - Paint chipping, Floorboard flooded

as far as the paint chipping, well, that kinda happens, personally i was my car by hand for that very reason.

as far as the water leaks, i first and foremost look to the T-top weather stripping, but you should have a bodyshop pressure wash test it for leaks, or get in it yourself, and have someone spray water around all the cracks and crevises to see if you can tell where the water is coming in.

as far as the tail light, i suggest buying a new housing, the drill hole let the water out, but can let moisture in, and causing the problem to come back again.

Unhappy

Thanks Tacoma for trying. I had heard that the clear coat was bad. I emailed Chevrolet and never got a response from them. Oh, and thanks 89IROC&RS for the info regarding the other problems. It does leak a little on the drivers side window (right above the mirror) if the water is coming at it at a high rate (like a car wash). I am still going to need to have some things checked on it... but for now I just have to find someone who can clean carpet.

Just makes me very very sad....
