Anyone used the stock P10 A pillar tweets with aftermarket stereo?

Sorry the title is a little long.

I just put a Pioneer DEHP4400 into my G to match the Pioneer 12 disk changer (I forgot which one), with Pioneer 4x6" plates up front, MB Quart 5.25" separates in the rear, and all of the associated new wiring. I'm wondering if someone has hooked up the stock A pillar tweeters that are in the car to an aftermarket amp or head unit? Does anyone at least know what the color code for the wires is? I know the impedance is different as well as the ohms, but I'm smart enough to get that part right. Just wondering if anyone has given this a try and has any input.

Thanks!

just splice the wire going to your 4x6s and maybe add a resistor i guess of somesort or somethin to maybe only let certain frequencies go to the tweets, i personally am planning the same thing, im trying to get a pair of those a pillars, or i may just get a hole saw and put some quart tweeters up there since i have a pair of 6 1/2 218.03cx quarts that i was gonna put in the door, and if im talking about the right part, the resistor, i guess ill use that or well actually, since the speakers have an outboard crossover, i may just split the signal from there, or if i can find a set of musicomps ill justuse those to power the tweeters and usually all the musicomps ive seen have an extra terminal set that you can use to drive extra sets in case your using a two channel amp and want to power more sets of speakers, im not sure how it effects the ohms, but ill put a meter to it and check.. but yea pretty much splicing it would be a cheap and easy way to do it, id maybe solder the wires and cover them in heat shrink to make sure they dont come apart..

i was curious, can anyone here get quart on wholesale, i need a pair of tweeters and a musicomp crossover pair.. and another thing.. has anyone used a phoenix gold octane before? i had a zx600ti and a 475ti at one time, and had a few problems with the 600 so im sorta weary, but i may just get an octane rather than a zapco or xtant amp, which i had orginally planned on, phoenix gold has that loud clean warm sound..which i sorta wanna rock while carving up curves on a nice summer night.. windows down.. clean and clear music=).. hope it helps.. and anyone that knows anything about that amp.. lemme know

thanks

Those A-pillars come off...just snap them out. But i would suggest just buying componet speakers and getting a crossover. If you dont have a crossover, you'll probably blow the stock tweets.

I didn't know jack when I installed my aftermarket stereo (just head unit)... My buddy and I just cut and spliced wires (didn't get an adapter harness or anything) from speakers to new unit... I get sound from all the speakers in the car. Go figure. Lucky I guess.

The stock tweets should have a cap on them already to block out the lower frequencies. Unless the cap is located on the door speaker which I doubt.

I was planning on doing a similiar set-up, but just amplifying the front stock speakers with aftermarket amp instedad of stock head unit.

I use the pillar tweeters then the blew!!!
I know use the hole they left behind for my microphone for my stereo.
If yoour car is equipped with the rear amp this shouldn't be a problem. Simple trial and error

I'm using the stock tweats with Kappa 4 x 6 plates in the doors, running off a Pioneer Premiere DEH-P730 deck. They are VERY loud (i also have the high part of the EQ up high too.) Under higher powered applications, i'd probably look into a set of components rather than separates. A local (to me) G20 owner has a set of Polk components (I believe) and it sounds incredible.

If you want to use the stock tweats instead, let me know and i can find out the color code in the FSM (i think), or i could check tonight when i'm out, cause i think all the wiring and speakers are probalby in a box somewhere over at that guys house, or he might remember.
