Balance shaft on a 3G
I've got a 2001 3rd gen eclipse. I have heard that alot of people remove the balance shaft on their 1st and 2nd gen's. I am intersted in doing the same thing on mine. When you remove the balance shaft does it wear out anything quicker? Also please point me into the direction of a website that could show me how to remove it Thanks!

Re: Balance shaft on a 3G
go to the 2000+ eclipse forums and see if you can do it on a 3g. the motors are completly different from the 1G/2G and we dont know stuff about 3G's. sorry

Re: Balance shaft on a 3G
Not to ba an asshole but those guys dont know the difference from a spark plug and a lug nut (there are one or two people who know a thing or two) but other than those two people, no one can answer the question.

Re: Balance shaft on a 3G
i happend to know the difference. a spark plug is connected to each cyldinder of an engine and starts the spark for conbustion. a lug nut connects the wheel to the car, eclipse's have 5 lugs on a 2g
so :P
