boost??

i made a boost controller for my 95 tsi, i have it turned up to 15psi. well in first gear i notice that it dont kick in at 2,200 rpms and it only boost to like 13 then drops to 10 at high rpms. every other gear boost to 15 fine and holds at least 13-14 at high rpms. is this normal???
thanks tyler

Re: boost??

you never can be sure with a home-made BC ....also, how do you know that you turbed it up to 15psi?....it is common to lose a little boost at high rpm also...

Re: boost??

you just said it was peaking at 13 psi , so oviously the BC was set to 13psi and not 15psi ...turn it up to 15 and its all gravey..

Re: boost??

im pretty sure it is. But how are you dring it like? bcuz you usually dont think about pressing on the gas pedal when goin on 1st gear. When my cuzin drives his Talon, he doesnt really press on the gas as much a 2nd, 3rd..and so on. But i think its normal.
OR
You just thought of your BC was at 15 psi, but its really at 13.....?

Re: boost??

First gear puts a much lower load on the motor, so it is common to not get as much boost. I never get full boost in first. Partly because of less load, partly because its over in .5 seconds. On a t25 I would think you could get full boost, but perhaps not. The behavior in the other gears sounds dead on normal, so I Wouldnt worry about it.
