Mufflers are something that are purely preference. You really got to hear it for yourself to find out if you like it or not. I wouldnt buy a muffler just because someone says it has a deep sound, because someones definition of deep might differ from one person to another.

As for variety Ebay has alot of mufflers to choose from, some even have sound clips for them.

Re: what are the best sounding mufflers?

i went with a custom setup. 2.5 turbo back, no cat,no resinators, back to a 3" magnaflow muffler. I havnt got a tip on it yet because i dnt have the $60-$80 one that will fit on it and look good. But it sounds awesome. Deep but not quiet idle. and when your crusing its deep but not quiet. Now when your WOT it deep except for a little raspy because of no tip. Beware that inside the car ou will hear it good. im going to get either that foam in a car or dynomate and line the trunk floor with it and that should muffel out the sound. I love it but you may not. just giving you some CHEAP($150 for complete setup)options. I couldnt see spending $300+ for just a catback 2.5"

Re: what are the best sounding mufflers?

if you want something deep at idle and loud at high rpm's, go with the cat and stock resinator and just a tip. very nice sounding and not too spendy either.

Re: what are the best sounding mufflers?

read the post people! hes not asking for a cat back he already has a 3 inch rsr catback all he wants is a louder muffler.

magnaflow's are supposed to sound pretty good. if you want something cheaper just about any generic 3 inch ebay muffler will work. its hard to make a turbo exhaust sound bad.

Re: what are the best sounding mufflers?

How about a apexi muffler? They sound deep and not ricy at all.

Re: what are the best sounding mufflers?

The only way a muffler will affect the sound is how loud/quiet it is. The sound your exhaust makes depends on the car, and the 4g63 is known for it's mean throaty rumble . If you want louder, just go with any ebay muffler that's 3" and straight through.

Re: what are the best sounding mufflers?

Custom muffler is always a good thought and cheap.

BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO FLIP THE MUFFLER AROUND SO THE OFFSET SIDE IS ON THE REAR TO CLEAR THE REAR SUSPENSION ARM. AND THAT WAY THE OUTLET WILL BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FACTORY BUMBER CUT OUT.
