4-1 one peice without droping crossmember?

I am on vacation pretty far away and my cars with me, on the way hom im hitting up m,y friends muffler shop and getting it done, Id liek to have my header in just in case the colector doesnt sit exactly like stock, so I dont have to tweak the exhaust to fit the header and have a poddibility of a rattle.

and I am gonna go with a 4-1 one peice design and I am unsure of getting it in there without dropping the crossmember. I have no problem with doing this but I will have a big problem doing it here in my sisters garage because dont have all my tools and dont have a good jack/stands. I could get the car in the air though, my friend would probably let me occupy a bay and throw the header up while they work in the other 2 as long as I wouldnt have to tear the car apart too much. and might as well not have it shipped way out here and cart the damn thing home if I am not gonna use it til I get home.

so will it slip past the crossmember? I will remove fan/radiator for more room.

for a 4-1 you will probly have to drop the crossmember. It may squeeze in but dropping the member is probly less hassle. I believe there are only two bolts and then you can lower it a good 6 inches... it may be enough play room. without having to take it completely out.

I just had my y-pipe out today to pull my oil pan off and do some work on it. it was a tight squeeze with just the Y I really think it'll be a pain to try and get the whole header in there.

for a 4-1 header...I unbolted the top brackets holding the radiator and fan to the car and that gave me some room to move. Also I unbolted the slave master cylinder (2 bolts) and that made it easy to get up there.

Re: 4-1 one peice without droping crossmember?

well, I will jack it up and look at what I think I can do when I go to drain the MTF. I might just have it shipped here and then if I dont install it Ill just haul it home, I was wondering if I took out radiator and fans, if there would be enough room to drop it in from the front, like turned so collector points to drivers side, and then angle below the engine and then when the primarys are hitting the engine/core support I might be able to start rotating it and get more clearance to drop more but I highly doubt it.

I love this car so much, I hate that I most likely wont have it to long, if I dont find a good job when I get home its gonna go for sale. I have a huge credit card debt rigbht now.

and header is cheap and not many people think to do it themselves so its expensive to them, and exhasut is really cheap for me, and I think that wil be a huge selling point for this car. Im gonna get it home and spend a few bucks detailing it, fixing a couple misc things, and I am guessing Ill turn a profit of about 2k out of this car. my friend sold his with same bumper, boltons, B16, stock wheels for 6800, bit less miles though but mine has chrome wheels, full kit, nice speakers and a nice pioneer CD HU along with a few other interior visual things.
and one with boltons/rims back home is in the paper for 7k right now.

I will replace my GSR ASAP though if I get rid of it, now that ive owned both I almost like the 2nd gen more.
