um, in good shape? The possiblity is 0. Most miatas are garaged and pampered like mine is and I have a hard time finding a miata in "project car" condition other than going to the junkyard and finding a really messed up one and even that is hard.

You might be able to find a 90 or 91 for that price, but it'll probably need a bit of paint restoration or interior work. And count on it being high mileage. Mine was a 94 M-edition in great condition with 64k miles, I got it for $7900. Came with an extra set of BBS rims. That should give you an idea of the price you'd be looking at for a good miata

Thumbs up price/96M

Market price in Reno was 6000.00 for a 96M with 38,000 miles! Its Cherry too! No Boot tho. Power/Air just serviced and New z-tires with a fresh alignment! He wanted 6900. but I asked if he'd take 6000 and he said yes. It was stolen and recovered too late so the bank paid on it and sold it at auction. I bought it from the guy a year later. Leather/CD player/cruise/alarm/wood trim. So just be a positive thinker and be prepared to pounce. And when you find a low milage Miata! Pounce! Purchased Feb. 2003.

You can find decent 90-91s for around that price. There are several in my area. They arent perfect, but then again they are 13 years old. Its a good project car for sure. Look around, especially www.autotrader.com you may have to be patient, but remember good things come to those who wait.
