98 Starting Problems

Sebring Convertable sometimes it starts sometimes it doesn't. Replaced coil/distributor it started every time for a week now if it sets for more then ten hours there is nothing when you turn the key. The battery is still strong. Put jumper cabels on and it starts right up. Not sure what to do next?

Re: 98 Starting Problems

Not for sure on this, but it sounds like your Starter is going bad. You may want to get it checked. (actually the starter solenoid)

You may also want to check your cables to make sure they are not corred and keeping the starter from getting full voltage.

EDIT

You may also have an Alternator going bad. Also the battery could still be bad, just hasn't gone dead yet.

So I would have the Battery, Alt., and cables checked first.

I am going to change my starter soon. Can someone tell me where it is located before I get started? Thanks.

Re: 98 Starting Problems

If you follow the positive battery lead, it will bring you to it.
