need info about puttin a 03-04 cr-v motor in my 91 si hatch

i have a 91 si hatch and im going to put a 03-04 cr-v DOHC i-VTEC 2.4 motor in it. i want to know if this is a good motor if i want to do an all motor car and a if anyone knows a web site that can help with info on doing the swap? u dont know this but im getting the motor and everything off the crv i need for FREE! and my dad owns a little shop so its not really going to be as expensive as you guys think plus i have an extra 91 civic hatch body to use as a mock up so i can test fit everything before i drop it in its permanent home and its also different. im just tryin somthing new. and ill put up pics when i get started, which would probably be around christmas.

I know of a guy locally who is putting a K24 in an EG hatch, but that's the closest I've ever heard of anyone getting to what you're talking about. I know it's gonna be spendy (see above ^^^^^) cuz you're going to have to overcome a lot of technology that is built into the new motors, and you're gonna have to upgrade your car to at least obd1, and plan on spending a grundle on mounts, and plan on getting out your hammer to make that sucker fit. Put up pics if/when you start the project!!

Also, it's going to kill your handling. It's more of an engine for 1/4 mile. The engine is going to be a little on the heavy side.

Just my opinion.. but that sounds like a waste of time and money.....

can't you get a smaller, cheaper engine and boost it for that price, and get more power out of it?

But good luck with it, show us some pics while you do it!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^what he said!

I can get you a B20 or B18 and a B16 head, build the bottom end, assemble it for you, ship it to you with an LSD in the tranny, sell you a turbo kit for it, and you'd still have money left over for installation before you got to the price of making that motor run. Heck, you'd have money left over to put on a new set of wheels and suspension too, and you'd be rockin a 12 or 13 second boost bandit with no headaches! If you want to do something unique, rock out, if you want big power, (no matter how boring it sounds) think a little closer to the box... but again, just my $0.02...
