Finished: 1969 Camaro RS/SS Convertible

I thought since I've been lurking around here for close to a year now and only posted a few times I would finally share one of my recent builds. It's the Revell kit and it's painted with the new Testors Lacquer paints, Hugger Orange. The only thing I did extra for the car is add plug wires and BMF, otherwise, it's right out of the box. I chose the white Z28 style stripes instead of the side stripes. This car replicates one my dad "almost" had years ago when I was a kid... Yep... the one that got away.

Hope you like it..... (there are a few other pictures of this model in my photo album, if you're interested)

Nice job on the camaro. The new testors paint looks like it worked pretty damn good! My friends got a 69 RS that I am thinking of one day replicating.

Re: Finished: 1969 Camaro RS/SS Convertible

Thanks for the compliments.

The stripes do come with the kit (Revell Kit). A choice of side "hockey" stripes or the racing stripes like I used. All the stripes are a choice of black or white. The decals for this kit are really nice decals. Strangely though, the Goodyear decals on the tires were not on the decal sheet but the "polyglass-gt" decals were there.

The testors paint was "okay" but I wasn't thrilled. Lets just say it polished out nice but took a lot more effort than I had hoped for. I'll give it another try, maybe in an airbrush next time and not the spray can like this one.

Thanks,

I wish I could take credit for the seats but they're decals that were supplied with the kit.

Re: Finished: 1969 Camaro RS/SS Convertible

You say it polished out with alot of effort, what polish/steps did you sue because the paint looks flawless to me? How does it compare to the Tamiya Laquer? Sorry for the questions but its because I was thinking about using it and didnt know about its results.
