AirBag Light On, Cassette Player Stuck

Does anyone have an idea about the Airbag light always being illuminated. 1999 A4 1.8T. The Airbag Light came one shortly after my purchase of this used vehicle. Does someone have hints or ideas about turning it off without taking it to the dealer. As well, the cassette player is stuck with my friends cassette in it. Help! Any help would be appreciated.

Not to sound obvious, but if the airbag light is always on, there is probably something wrong with the airbag, and that not anything to fool around with. i know of a few instances where they have failed to go off in an accident because the light was not taked seriously.

BUT i know how the dealership can screw you so i would search online for a schematic of how to reset the light. I did this with my 88 BMW and it worked perfectly.

The only other thing i can think of is disconnecting the battery. do this then turn the key to accessory (two clicks i think) but dont try to start it. I did this with my abs light and i went off and stayed off, i knew nothing was wrong.

your air bag lite is on because of a wire under your seat on one side or both pulling and creating a diffrent resistence causing your airbag lite to illuminate wrap the wires in tape and zip tie them under the seat check for clearance and then take it to the dealer to get cleared or go by a vag com readder

Sounds like your battery might be almost dead. Sometimes when you have a low battery voltage cd's or cassettes will get stuck in the radio because there isnt enough voltage to turn the radio on. ALso low battery voltage will set an airbag light.
