aftermarket cadillac hubcaps for my 49 Merc

Anyone know if they make these Cadillac hubcaps in resin or aluminum:

Also do they make the Desoto grill in resin for my 49 Merc prodject:

Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland

offers both the Cadillac rims and a DeSoto grille. He's out of town (at a show in Long Island) , but I can ask him for part numbers and prices later this week if you want. Just let me know.

RMCoM resin products are second to none in quality. As a recall, Rik Hoiving mastered the hubcaps and grille.

Norman does not have a website, but his email address is:

[email protected]

Here are links to two online Fotki albums with RMCoM product photos:

I really shouldn't post anything until after I have my coffee! =8^(

The parts are available from Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland (this seems to be missing from the subject line of my previous post) and here's the link to the second Fotki album with RMCoM part photos:

Note that the items featured in the albums does not represent the entire product line. There are literally hundreds of great items available.

Hey Matt, If you could find out the part numbers for both the hub caps and the grille for me. When will Norman be back in town?

I understand that RMCoM doesn't do direct order (correct me if I'm wrong) but www.scaledreams.com carries their parts.

Okay, you're wrong!

You most certainly can order from Norman direct.

BTW, enjoyed seeing your models this weekend...Scale Auto photo'ed your Lotus. Next time you should accompany your models!

Thanks for correcting me, I'm happy to admit when I make a mistake. And thanks for the words on my cars, they mean a lot to me. I will be there next year, with something else wild and with better paint!

Hi John,

Here you go. RMCoM (410-768-3648) no website, but email at: [email protected] or orders through the mail at: 317 Roosevelt Avenue S.W., Glen Burnie, MD 21061.

Norman does sell direct. Depending on the items ordered, you're generally looking at about two weeks for delivery.

The '58 Caddy wheelcovers are part no P-77 (.680" diameter). A set of four (not plated, but Alclad II Chrome works great on these) is $5.50.

The DeSoto grille is part no RH-903 and is $4.95. Also, if you're looking for bumpers like those on the Merc in your photos, Norman offers '51 DeSoto bumpers, part no RH-902, for 6.95. That's for the front and rear bumper and a front roll pan.

I hope this helps. Let's see your progress when you get it going.

Take care,
Matt

It looks pretty good from where I'm sitting! How did you do the hood louvers?

Thanks, One of my older generation model had a louvered hood, in the exact pattern that I needed. So i took some liquid latex and brushed a fine coat on. Mixed and made a resin copy. Its thin enough as to where I didnt need to cut out a hole in the Merc hood. I just had to engrave/ make a pocket for the resin copy to sit in and sit flush with the rest of the original hood. a little putty and there it is. I will see if I can get a good shot of the hood.
Thanks again Matt for the insight with Norman. I emailed my order yesterday. Now im just waiting paitently for his arrival home and to see my order.

John
