"new" 2001 SL2 tips?

Hello All,

I've just purchased a 2001 SL2 5-spd from a local Chevrolet dealer. This car looks and drives like new and has only 13000 odometer miles, but only has 30 days left on the 3yr/36k Saturn warranty.

Clean CarFax: 1 (local) owner No Accidents
No recorded warranty service.
Equipment: PS PL PW A/C ABS CD Alloys Spoiler Power Sunroof

I hope to get many years of service from it and am encouraged to read reports and user posts testifying to the longterm reliability of this model.

So, any tips? Should I buy an extended Saturn warrany while I still can? I'd appreciate any advice veteran owners might offer.

tia,

Kenn

i haven't heard of many problems with the 2001 and 2002 model, maybe saturn finally made a prefict car, or maybe they are still to new. i personally like extended warrentys, but thats me. just be sure you can the oil every 3000 miles in the future.

i own one w/31k on it, you dont really need the warranty, but its nice to have. i if i were you, i would upgrade the flywheel though, its one of the only things on the car that actually slows it down a little. it can take any abuse you dish out though...no problems w/ the gen 3 though...its a great car!! if you're thinkin about upgrading the body, talk to me. im workin on a bodykit for the 00-02, its pretty sweet
