Usually if its just 1 bank running lean... your passenger side Oxygen Sensor is possibly going bad. Bank 1 points to right side or passenger side.... bank 2 points to drivers or left side... so if your code reads bank 1 to lean look into Oxygen Sensor.

Re: Check Engine On Again

It could possibly be the O2 sensor, or it could be the MAF sensor. I currently have the same code on my computer. And i was told by a thunderbird guy to replace the MAF and that will solve the problem. I'll post back with my results

Re: Check Engine On Again

It takes eight drive cycles for the code to come back on. If it comes back on you may have a vacuum leak around the intake pulling to much air in that bank. Also if you've been using a cheap air filter (i.e. fram) those will screw up your air flow sensor.

You don't have a miss, do you? Usually one bank being lean indicates an O2 sensor or a miss. Usually if you have a vacuum leak or bad MAF sensor, both banks read lean. A miss or a clogged injector will cause one bank, though.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FINALLY STAYED OFF AFTER REPLACING THE MAF. NOW ANOTHER PROBLEM CAME UP. THE CAR FEELS LIKE ITS HESITATING AFTER I TAKE OFF. OR A BETTER WAY TO PUT IT WHEN I IDLE ON DRIVE. I ALSO WENT AND HAD IT SMOG AND DIDN'T PASS. THE REPORT SAID THE HC (PPM) AND THE CO (%) WERE WAY
HIGH. ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM?
