I have a "NICE" 1994 Blazer (with only 94,000 miles ) with the 4.3 Vortec and I have been having a problem with "Floating" or "Hesitation" and poor fuel consumption....at low rpms...
I changed the fuel pump/fuel filter and strainer, I've tuned it up and still got a floating/hesitation feeling at low rpms... Any help? I thought it might be the "Spider" injector...I dunno.... PS- Why in the Heck did they make such an "important part" ( the spider? ) out of plastic? Can someone tell me this? With the heat and gasoline factor under the intake, it just dont make sense to me.... Tnx for your input.... KYCOL |

Re: Hesitation 4.3 Vortec
Do you have a miss at idle , and a miss on take off too. Check and clean your egr first, Pintel or plunger I call it gets stuck. If that dont do it I would look at the cpi next.
YES I agree it is a stupied (__!__) design that gm did on the vortec cpi system. My 91 blazer with Throttle Body and 156000 has never given me FI troubles. But the 93 jimmy with cpi has since 82000 to 114000 now. |

Re: Hesitation 4.3 Vortec
I would not only clean the EGR but would also do a throttle body cleaning and clean the IAC (Idle Air Control) on the side of the Throttle Body.

Re: Hesitation 4.3 Vortec
Open up the plenum and look at the injector and nut kit.
Get it fixed because all it is doing is flooding the oil with gas which reduces the lubrication in your engine. This also will ruin your cat.
