95 Cherokee 2.5L missing at speed w/ O2 indication from OBD

Our 95 Cherokee SE with the 2.5L 4cyl. runs fine but at speed seemingly only while warming up, will sometimes miss or cut out. It never stalls but this can cause some eratic jerking.

We have a two different OBD1 codes that indicates O2 sensor issues. But I wouldn't expect the O2 sensor to cause this behavior.

Anyone have an idea of the OS2 sensor could cause this? We're on a really tight budget and don't want to change the O2 sensor unless we need to.

Thanks!
