95 mustang power seat.
I need some help. I moved the powered seat on the drivers side all the way forward to clean behind the seat and now the motor or the switch for the seat has quit working. I cannot move the seat backwards to a suitable driving position. I tried to remove the seat, but the seat is so far forward that it covers the two forward bolts holding it into the base of the the car.
I know this is a long shot, but if anyone has got any ideas how to move it backwards or get it out, I would really appreciate it. I really do not want to take it into a dealership. Cheers. |

You may have three possible problems.
1) The switch is broken. ( least likely ) 2) The motor is broken. ( more likely ) 3 ) The seat went off of its track. ( most likely ) If you press the switch and hear nothing, then the case is (1) or (2). If you press the switch and hear the motor straining, then the case is (3). If the case is (1) or (2) then break out your multi-tester. If the case is (3) break out your flashlight and plyers. |

I have had the same problem in my 96 conv. Mine is in the switch. I took it apart and found a little of corrosion on the contacts. Cleaned it up and it works fine.
Also if you need to adjust the seat before you fix it, there are small manual drive points on the seat rails. they are white on mine and take a small square drive bit. Just use your power screw driver and move the seat where you want it. JRL423 |

Re: 95 mustang power seat.
i had the same problem with mine ... someone had ran a hot to the switch and they also put in an inline fuse that kept blowing ... apparently 95 had a problem with these power seats .
