Courtesy Lights

Hello, I'm Trying To Trouble Shoot My Courtesy Lights, 1995 Grand Am, After Market Remote Entry Installed. All Lights Are Out, If I Pull And Reinstall The Alarm Fuse, The Lights Will Come On For A Couple Minutes And Then Go Back Out, Any Idea's Anybody? Thank's Cisko1624

Re: Courtesy Lights

Are you talking about a factory alarm fuse, or the fuse on the after-market keyless entry unit? Second, when you say all lights are out do you mean they won't work when you open a door, or use the domelight switch, or just when unlock the doors with the keyless unit?

Re: Courtesy Lights

Hello Forkliftguy, I'm talking about the factory alarm fuse. I don't have the factory alarm on this car, aftermarket installer may have used this fuse to power keyless entry.
Also, I mean all courtesy lights are out, all the time. Only in I pull the fuse and reinstall do they come on for a short while. Seems like the keyless entry resets when fuse is plugged back in, then lights go back out. Thank's, cisko1624

Re: Courtesy Lights

Hmmmm, no factory alarm, but the fuse for it is there...That's odd. Try pulling out the fuse, don't put it back in though. Then close all your doors, and open door and see if the lights come on. Also whilst the fuse is out try and see if the keyless entry system still works. I'm not overly familiar with '95 electrical (if there is a BCM or not), but tell me the outcome and I'll try to help more.

Re: Courtesy Lights

Hello, Forkliftguy, as of yesterday everything was back on line, lights, chime, I pulled the fuse a couple times and put it back, I'll check again today when the car gets home from work. If they're out again I'll try your idea, if they're still working I'll let you know that too, thank's, cisk1624

Re: Courtesy Lights

Hey, Forkliftguy, two days now, and lights and chime still working, maybe fuse was the weak link, maybe the alarm system (the one I don't have) reset itself when I had the fuse out. Anyway thank's for your reply, cisko1624
